Wigmore Presents(and delivers)…

Katie Emberley recounts her visit to Wigmore Presents for the first time, and it did not disappoint

I remember having a bit of envy this time last year as the industry was still abuzz with talk from Wigmore Presents. Sadly, I was working for a competitor at the time so it wouldn’t have been appropriate to attend but I was keen to witness what all the chat was about.

In an industry where it is imperative that we keep our finger on the pulse, ongoing education is essential. It therefore feels like a real treat when a conference is really engaging and importantly (especially on a weekend) enjoyable and fun.
With three theatres focusing on injectables, skincare & devices and skin workshops-there really was something for every size and type of aesthetic business.

Microbiome was hot on everyone’s lips and addressed beautifully by power couple Dr Anton Enright and Dr Tatyana Lapa-Enright. Although it feels like we are only at the tip of the iceberg on microbiome, I am grateful such inquisitive minds are driving the exploration.

Delegates were eager to sit in on ‘Spoilt for choice? The nuances of available toxins’ which saw some of the UK’s sleekest injectors lay their cards on the table. It felt particularly current considering the recent launch of new toxins in our industry after many years of essentially a duopoly market.

Dr Mary Sommerlad enticed furious note taking from the delegates as they were eager to learn more about her successes during ‘Understanding pigmentation: the tyrosinase pathway and where different ingredients fit’. An issue so many patients present with, there were some golden nuggets here that I am certain many delegates will be able to put into practice.

The skill, insight and intelligence of some of our younger speakers was truly impressive. Minds like Dr Abs Settipalli, Dr Raj Thethi, and Nurse Prescriber Rhianna Bell really brought a young fresh flavour to the agenda whilst being true to themselves and showing a real desire to expand and grow the industry.

“Excellent conference
with the focus on
the science.”

“I enjoyed attending at the
lovely intimate venue. I like
the sizes of the lecture theatres
and the variety of speakers. It
was a thoroughly enjoyable and
worthwhile experience.”

“Amazing educational event
provided by Wigmore Medical
that I greatly enjoyed and
would highly recommend to
clinicians regardless of their
experience. Great lectures
and tones of wisdom shared from
experienced leaders in the
aesthetic industry. Thank you.”

Julie Scott walked attendees through her World Class patient care style. Thorough consultations, dedicated skin care programmes and comprehensive treatment plans, a particular treat during the ‘Blind Date’ session.

Not forgetting ‘Turn Back Time’ the afterparty to rival all after parties. Dr Tapan Patel alongside being an expert aesthetics practitioner can also carve up the dancefloor while simultaneously winning best dressed. A sensational evening was had by all who attended.

I often think our industry gets a bad rap as being a bit cutthroat, protective and unwilling to share information. Wigmore Presents was a testament to the opposite of this. Medical professionals practicing aesthetic medicine share a real hunger for learning, curiosity and exploration. Julie Scott proclaimed on the stage what many of us know to be true, there is more than enough business and market growth for everyone. Dr Tatyana Lapa-Enright, Dr David Eccleston, Ian Vitek, Dr Rita Poddar, and Trevor Steyn were all evidence of this as they were keen to learn and share their thoughts whilst attending other sessions as delegates.

Ultimately the key to making Wigmore Presents the great success that it is, really rests on the combination of a carefully chosen agenda and the talented skill of the speakers. Selecting the hot topics and allocating those topics to professionals who can really lend their expert perspective to their peers is how the magic happens.

April 2025 cannot come quick enough.
