Noggin

Noggin, as we all know is a euphemism for the head. It is one of those quaint English words that has become part of the normal vernacular, that would have no meaning outside the UK and would make people stop and stare if they had not heard of it before. ‘I just banged my noggin’, or ‘my daughter hurt her noggin at school’, seems normal to us Brits, yet completely alien to other cultures.  

Yet Noggin is also the name of a growth factor that is one the main ingredients for a new exciting range of hair restoration products in the new SkinGenuity Hair Restoration range.

Noggin is a complex protein that was discovered in the 90s and was named due to the fact that it produced embryos with large heads. • The SkinGenuity Hair Restoration treatment is a protocol that uses in-clinic treatment followed by home-use.  

• There is no requirement to take blood from the patient to apply the growth factors within clinic treatments such as micro needling.

In-clinic treatment

If you have your own micro-needling system in-house then the in-clinic treatment would be micro-needling in combination with the SkinGenuity Hair Restoration Serum. This is applied to the scalp before and after needling.

If you do not use or do not have a micro-needling system, then you can use the EMPRESS Micro-Fusions Applicator (1.0mm) needling system in combination with the EMPRESS Restorative Solution.

Homecare Kit 

Once the patient has had in-clinic treatment they can then purchase the SkinGenuity Homecare Kit, which is a two-step process that will ensure that patient has the best chance of improving their hair loss.

Firstly, the patient can carry on with the needling on their scalp, by using the EMPRESS Micro-Fusions Applicator (0.2mm) needles in combination with the Noggin and his friends in the SkinGenuity Hair Restorative Solution. This should be done every other day.

The SkinGenuity Homecare Kit also contains an innovative brush which delivers a clinically proven combination of botanical and essential oils that will enhance the effect of the needling.

Combination treatment

It is clear that some scientists have a sense of humour when naming the key growth factor Noggin.
