Until recently the main method of addressing slack and drooping skin has been to plump it out, but how much better would it be if clinicians could bring about collagenasis so that patients regain their own youthful appearance? That is the principle behind the next generation of dual acting regenerative treatments which are changing the way progressive aesthetics clinicians are rejuvenating faces. Two of the most contemporary come from the portfolio of Sinclair Pharma—Silhouette Soft tissue repositioning sutures and Ellansé dermal filler—with both products having the added benefit of natural collagen stimulation.
According to clinician trainer Dr Ian Strawford, an early advocate of Sinclair’s dual treatment protocol, “collagen stimulating treatments offer the potential of regenerative lifting and volume restoration, allowing us to create a far more naturalistic appearance. With combination treatments we can achieve natural regenerative results akin to face lift surgery without the risks of going under the knife, and achieve impressively sustained results.”
Silhouette Soft sutures
Silhouette Soft sutures provide a unique two-stage process—an immediate reposition and volume restoration and gradual collagen regeneration. The sutures feature bi-directional cones which secure them in place in the subcutaneous tissues and allows them to be pulled in two directions to reposition the tissue to bring about an immediate mechanical lift and restore volume. The sutures and cones are made from polylactic acid, and post treatment, before they are resorbed, they bring about the process of collagenesis. This creates a second biological effect, where the skin becomes firmer and tighter as a result of the augmentation from newly laid down type 1 collagen to fill out the face naturally.
The holy grail of facial rejuvenation
“The holy grail of facial rejuvenation would be the ability of a skin injectable to stimulate controlled, lasting collagen production.” says Consultant Dermatologist, Dr Nick Lowe. Gratifyingly the ‘holy grail’ has been achieved with the development of Ellansé This is the first dermal filler that provides both instant and gradual results; increased volume occurs immediately post-injection, however volumisation continues to develop due to the production of type 1 collagen. Impressively, the results can be tailored to last between one and four years.
Ellansé is made from bio-absorbable Polycaprolactone which acts as the collagen stimulator. The sophisticated dermal filler can be placed at different depth levels within the sub-dermal layers of the skin so it be used for facial line improvement, to fill and correct wrinkles and folds, tackle anthropic scaring and effectively volumise, contour and sculpt the face. Another discernible benefit is the improvement in skin quality and complexion as a result of the freshly generated natural healing collagen produced by the body
The perfect HA filler makes three
The third product in Sinclair’s focused portfolio is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler—Perfectha. Perfectha offers practitioners a full range of HA products to treat all areas of the face. From Pefectha Subskin for volume and contouring, Perfcetha Derm and Perfectha Deep for definition and volume of the lips and Perfectha Finelines to address exactly that—finelines around the eyes and treat the tear trough.
Training and support is key to on-going success
Providing on-going education to the clinicians who treat with Silhouette Soft, Ellansé and Perfectha is a key part of Sinclair Pharma’s ethos, with on-going post-training development a core plank of its practitioner support. Sinclair is now proud to offer their online learning portal, Sinclair College. Sinclair College offers pre and post training material as well as live and on demand webinars from international KOLs, keeping Sinclair practitioners up to date with the latest techniques and clinical studies.
