2025 Aesthetic trends: The experts' opinion

What’s on the horizon for the aesthetics industry in 2025? We hear from Dr Marcus Mehta of Story Clinic and Amanda Azzopardi of Amanda Azzopardi Aesthetics, for their opinion on what is to come…

What treatments did you notice becoming more popular in clinic in 2024?
“Polynucleotides became increasingly popular in cosmetic medicine due to their ability to stimulate collagen production and improve skin elasticity. They are considered a safe and effective treatment option for various skin concerns, especially for concerns relating to the under eye.

“Profhilo was ever so popular in 2024 and uses hyaluronic acid to stimulate collagen production and improve skin elasticity, leading to a smoother and more rejuvenated look.

“We also saw an increase in demand for deeper skin rejuvenating devices such as the Morpheus8, which combines microneedling with radio frequency energy to stimulate collagen production and improve skin texture and tone.”

What do you think will be the top three trends in the aesthetic industry in 2025?
“A further expansion into natural-looking results and treatment modalities—as patients become more discerning, the focus will shift towards achieving subtle, natural-looking enhancements that complement their individual features.

“Combination treatments and tailored treatment plans that combine multiple procedures will become more common to address specific concerns and achieve optimal results. Companies are looking at ways to combine injectables with energy-based modalities and I think we will see a rise in these combination-style treatments.

“The rise of aesthetic treatments for men! As societal attitudes towards male grooming evolve, I think we will see a significant increase in men seeking aesthetic procedures to enhance their appearance and boost their confidence.”

What changes do you hope to see in the aesthetic industry?
“Increased regulation—stronger regulation and standardisation of training and qualifications for aesthetic practitioners would help to ensure patient safety and maintain high standards of care. With the rise of treatment complications and serious incidents being shown in the media, it will drive patients to look for more qualified and regulated professionals to carry out treatments.

“I also hope for a greater emphasis on education; more resources and initiatives focussed on educating patients about the benefits and risks of aesthetic procedures would empower them to make informed decisions. Patients are often confused about the types of treatments on offer and what to look for in a person carrying out the treatment. I’d like to see a wider initiative aimed at education for the general public on safe ways to get aesthetic treatments.”

“One of the most googled non-surgical terms this year has been ‘treatments for the neck and jawline’, alongside skin tightening. The next big thing to hit the UK in 2025? For face, neck and jawline tightening, I predict that IgniteRF from InMode is going to change the game!

“The market has been struggling for a while to bridge the gap between non-surgical tissue repositioning and surgical procedures, so the arrival of IgniteRF is going to revolutionise the sector. It offers patients everything in one advanced and super safe device—we can help achieve a tight, snatched jawline without having to go under the knife or general anaesthetic. It’s the most effective way to tackle jowls, crepeyness and turkey necks non-surgically.

“IgniteRF is a total game changer for the industry. Patients will have minimal downtime, fast recovery, visible results very quickly and longer lasting outcomes than ever before. I can’t wait to launch this brand new device in my clinic.”
